The End of My Marriage: A Quiet but Powerful Step Forward

 For a long time now, I’ve shared pieces of my life here — my healing, my growth, and the work it’s taken to rebuild after leaving a harmful marriage. I’ve always tried to balance honesty with safety, and today is no different.

What I want to share is simple, but significant:

The divorce process has officially begun.

Just before the holidays, after a long period of trying to resolve this legally and appropriately, I was finally able to move forward with filing. The paperwork was sent out at the end of the year, and earlier this month it was officially served.

That moment mattered more than I expected.

Not because it was dramatic — but because it represented closure after a very long chapter of uncertainty. For over a year, I had been trying to do things the right way: through the courts, through proper channels, without escalation. To finally see that step completed felt like a weight lifting.

This doesn’t mean everything is suddenly easy or finished. There are still legal steps ahead, and I’m continuing to follow the process carefully and responsibly. But it does mean that forward motion is happening — and that matters.

My focus moving forward is exactly where it has always been:

• Stability
• Safety
• And protecting my child’s well-being

Everything I do from here on out is centered on building a peaceful, secure future. I trust the legal system to do what it’s designed to do, and I’m surrounding myself with support, documentation, and patience.

I’ve learned that healing doesn’t always come with loud victories. Sometimes it comes quietly — in paperwork filed, doors closed, and chapters ending without applause.

This is one of those moments.
